Samsung has not announced one. Reports point to an early January 2027 launch, while others expect January or February 2027. In India, every Galaxy S since the S21 has reached open sale 14 to 16 days after the global announcement, with pre-booking opening on announcement day or the next, so we would expect the same pattern. That is our forecast, not an official date.
Samsung S27 Release Date in India: Galaxy S27 Ultra, Price & Latest News
Even though Samsung hasn’t officially confirmed the Samsung S27 release date in India, the new rumors suggest the smartphone will go on sale around the world early. According to tipster Lanzuk, the Galaxy S27 series may start to roll out in early January 2027, slightly earlier than the Galaxy S25 and S26. Other outlets are expecting January or February 2027. If the early rumour is true, then it would be possible to see an Indian launch sometime in mid-to-late January, as open sale has been delayed by 14-16 days for every previous Galaxy S launch in India. The Galaxy S27 Ultra is rumored, but there’s no official word.

Samsung S27 Release Date in India: Expected Launch Timeline
Samsung typically reveals its Galaxy S offerings at a worldwide Unpacked conference in mid-January or February. Pre-booking is then done within a day for Indian buyers with open sale following in about two weeks. The S27 looks like it will play by that same schedule with one difference—the latest leak seems to indicate that Samsung might be moving sooner than they did for the S25 and S26.
Is Samsung Galaxy S27 launching in January 2027?
It may happen but it doesn’t have to happen. The January claim is Lanzuk’s, who SamMobile says has a proven history with Samsung leaks. Geeky Gadgets is more conservative and says it will be out “probably in January or February 2027.
This rumour is really readable against history. The galaxy s21 was announced on 14th Jan 2021, which is the earliest date for the past six generations. If the S27 did arrive in the first part of January it would be the earliest Galaxy S to be unveiled in this case, before even the S21. We are not quoting Samsung nor the tipster here, but our interpretation of the table below from the launch.
Our take: January as the hope, and February as the more likely scenario to plan on, particularly since the S26 moved to Feb. 25, 2026.
When could the Samsung S27 go on sale in India?
Samsung has yet to declare a launch date in India, and any date is a “forecast”. These launches are in line with Samsung India’s recent trend with pre-booking beginning from the day or the day after the announcement and open sale 14 to 16 days after. Galaxy S24 was unveiled on January 17, 2024 and will be pre-booked in India from January 18, 2024, and go on-sale from January 31, 2024. The Galaxy S25 was released on January 22, 2025, and will go on sale on February 7, 2025, while the Galaxy S26 will be released on February 25, 2026, with the sale of the device commencing on March 11, 2026. As for the pre-booked phones, they typically arrive a couple of days ahead of time: S25 phones were delivered on Feb 4, and S26 phones on Mar 5 and 6.
Using that 14-to-16-day gap, here are three TechyAssist scenarios for India open sale. They are forecasts, not Samsung statements:
- Announcement in the first half of January: India pre-booking opens right away, with open sale roughly between January 19 and January 31.
- Announcement in late January: open sale roughly between February 3 and February 16.
- Announcement in mid-to-late February: open sale roughly between February 24 and March 13.
Samsung Galaxy S21 to S27 launch timeline comparison
The S21 to S26 rows below are historical. The global Unpacked date mentioned in the article is “Announced” while the Indian Unpacked date is “India open sale” as mentioned by Samsung India and Indian media. The row for S27 is not verified.

| Galaxy S21 | Jan 14, 2021 | Jan 29, 2021 | 15 | Rs 69,999 |
| Galaxy S22 | Feb 9, 2022 | Feb 25, 2022 | 16 | Rs 72,999 |
| Galaxy S23 | Feb 1, 2023 | Feb 17, 2023 | 16 | Rs 74,999 |
| Galaxy S24 | Jan 17, 2024 | Jan 31, 2024 | 14 | Rs 79,999 |
| Galaxy S25 | Jan 22, 2025 | Feb 7, 2025 | 16 | Rs 80,999 |
| Galaxy S26 | Feb 25, 2026 | Mar 11, 2026 | 14 | Rs 87,999 (Rs 1,02,999 since Sept 23, 2026) |
| Galaxy S27 | Rumoured early Jan 2027 (others say Jan–Feb) | Not announced | Unknown | Not announced |
Entry prices are not like-for-like: the S22 and S23 started at 128GB, the S24 at 256GB, and the S25 and S26 at 12GB + 256GB. Since the Samsung India announced the S23, the company has been pre-booking the device from the day of its announcement or the day after.
Samsung Galaxy S27 Latest News and Leaks (October 2026)
The most detailed reporting of the S27 was for the past week. Not one of the claims is from Samsung, so we attribute each one to the source. The other major announcement for Indian buyers this season is Samsung’s price increase on its S26 series on September 23, 2026, which is outlined below in pricing.
Why Samsung might launch the S27 earlier than expected
According to SamMobile’s October 19 report, the S27 series might reach a few weeks earlier than the S25 and S26 windows, which is similar to the S21 launch date of mid-January. The same report says that Samsung has reportedly completed the major parts and is likely holding off on the launch until the competition’s schedules align, which seems to be the case as Apple’s recently announced base iPhone 18 has been suggested as a possible reference point.
But in our opinion, there’s also straightforward business sense. The S26’s late February arrival would come on the heels of some early spring and summer releases on the horizon by competitors, which would mean that Samsung would have a shorter sales window. That isn’t a leak, it’s analysis. Even though the price of components and supply chain may change, Geeky Gadgets notes, it is still possible for dates and specs to shift.
What recent leaks reveal about the Galaxy S27 lineup
- Four models (SamMobile, October 19): Galaxy S27, S27+, S27 Pro and S27 Ultra, with the Pro described as a new addition.
- Chipsets (SamMobile, October 19): the S27 and S27+ are said to use the Exynos 2700 in most markets outside China and North America. The Pro may split between the Exynos 2700 and a Snapdragon chip by region, while the Ultra could use Qualcomm silicon exclusively.
- Memory (SamMobile, October 19): Samsung is still deciding whether to fit LPDDR6 RAM and UFS 5.0 storage in the Pro and Ultra, partly because memory chip prices have risen sharply over the past year.
- Design (Geeky Gadgets, October 21, citing a Talks Daily Tech video): the Ultra may have bezels of about 1.28 mm and a thicker camera bump of about 4.69 mm. The S27 and S27+ are said to keep a vertical camera layout, while the Pro and Ultra may get a wider camera housing.
Not every outlet agrees. Geeky Gadgets says the Ultra could use either an Exynos or a Snapdragon chip depending on the region, which conflicts with SamMobile’s Qualcomm-only claim.
Has Samsung officially confirmed the Galaxy S27 release date?
No. In the reported material, Samsung has yet to confirm a release date, an Unpacked event, the final model names or the Pro model. The first reliable signal will be an official invite from Samsung, which is usually sent out a few weeks in advance to the event. For now, all the dates mentioned in this article are rumours and/or forecasts.
Galaxy S27 Ultra Release Date in India: What to Expect
The answer to the s27 ultra release date is that it will come with the rest of the series, most likely in January or February 2027, the India launch date yet to be announced.
Samsung S27 Ultra expected launch date
The Galaxy S27 Ultra is likely to be announced alongside the other S27 devices in the same event, in January-February 2027. In India, the Ultra went on sale 14-16 days after the global event, in tandem with the other new models. The S27 Ultra has not been reported as having a date yet in India. SamMobile’s S27 Ultra explainer, which was updated in May 2026, also anticipates that the S27 Ultra will go on pre-orders on its announcement date and will be available in stores within two weeks.
Will the Galaxy S27 Ultra launch alongside the regular S27?
Very likely, yes. All Galaxy S Ultra devices from S21 to S26 were announced with their series counterparts, and the latest reports state that all four models of the S27 will come at the same time. We cannot find any report that mentions a staggered release. One wildcard is the rumored Pro: It would be an entirely new tier and Samsung might release it at a different time, but nothing definite has been said about that.
Galaxy S27 Ultra expected availability and pre-orders in India
The S26 Ultra truly shows a glimpse of the India game plan. Samsung India had opened pre-ordering on 25th February 2026 and closed it on 10th March, and opened the open sale on 11th March, with the early deliveries to pre-order customers from 5th March. According to Croma’s coverage, the Pre-order offers included a 512GB model at the same price as the 256GB variant, Galaxy Buds 4 series earbuds worth Rs 3,500 each when bundled with the 512GB model, and Rs 65,000 exchange bonus when traded for a new Galaxy Watch Active. This is not confirmed, neither has there been a pre-booking for the S27 announced, but Samsung could recreate this for the S27 Ultra.
The S26 Ultra was sold in India in 12GB + 256GB, 12GB + 512GB and 16GB + 1TB versions. SamMobile believes the S27 Ultra’s storage capacity will be 256GB and possibly 1TB.

Samsung Galaxy S27
The standard S27 will likely be the bottom of the range. It will retain a vertical camera setup and roll out the Exynos 2700 in most markets except for China and North America, reports said, which would also include India. As for a comparison, the Exynos 2600 was given to the S26 and S26+.
Samsung Galaxy S27 Plus
The S27+ will also be based on the same chipset and camera design as the base model, but will include a larger display and battery. For a more affordable Samsung option, see our Samsung Galaxy A31 review. There are very few specifics about the S27+ to go on yet, so we’d wait for more leaks until we form a conclusion.
Samsung Galaxy S27 Pro — rumoured addition
SamMobile and Geeky Gadgets both have a mention of the S27 Pro, but Samsung has not announced it. According to reports, it is being considered as a premium tier, may have a slightly larger camera housing, may be offered with either Exynos or Snapdragon processors, and could get an expansion of RAM to LPDDR6 and flash to UFS 5.0. Where it fits in the lineup and how much it will cost remain a mystery.
Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra
The Ultra continues to be the flagship. Rumours suggest that the device will run on a Qualcomm processor, sport a potential three-camera setup on the back and will feature significantly thinner bezels, plus a larger battery. Those are addressed in our specifications below.
| Model | Expected positioning | Likely buyer | Main rumoured differences | Status |
| Galaxy S27 | Entry flagship | People who want a compact, premium phone | Exynos 2700 in most markets; vertical camera layout | Expected |
| Galaxy S27 Plus | Larger mainstream flagship | People who want a bigger screen and battery | Exynos 2700; vertical camera layout | Expected |
| Galaxy S27 Pro | New tier, slot unclear | Buyers who want premium hardware without necessarily going Ultra (our reading) | Wider camera housing; possible Exynos/Snapdragon split; LPDDR6 and UFS 5.0 under consideration | Rumoured only |
| Galaxy S27 Ultra | Top-end flagship | Power users, camera and S Pen fans | Snapdragon; possible three rear cameras; about 1.28 mm bezels | Expected, not confirmed |
Samsung Galaxy S27 Expected Price in India
Samsung has yet to reveal the S27 pricing. The following is Indian price history, supplemented by clearly marked ‘TechyAssist’ estimates. These are our predictions on previous launches and recent market activity, rather than leaks and Samsung data.
The major fact of recent times is Samsung has hiked prices of Galaxy S26 in India. The leaked retailer communication, as reported by SamMobile, said that the price hikes will roll out on September 23, 2026. Samsung has not disclosed the reasoning behind the move, but rumours suggest that it is due to the increased expense of memory and components. That shifts the S27 base line.
Samsung S27 expected price in India
The Galaxy S26 launched at Rs 87,999 (12GB + 256GB) and now costs Rs 1,02,999. The 512GB version moved from Rs 1,07,999 to Rs 1,22,999. In the S22 to S26 launch history, the entry price crept up from Rs 72,999 to Rs 87,999.
TechyAssist estimate for the S27 (256GB): Rs 1,02,999 to Rs 1,14,999. Samsung is unlikely to sell into the market below the current S26 price, and will have an upside risk if the memory price increases. A 512GB step of approximately Rs 20,000 will be comparable to the S26 pattern.
Galaxy S27 Plus and Pro expected pricing
The S26+ launched at Rs 1,19,999 for 12GB + 256GB and now costs Rs 1,34,999, with the 512GB model at Rs 1,54,999.
TechyAssist estimate for the S27+ (256GB): Rs 1,34,999 to Rs 1,49,999.
For the Pro, there is no reliable basis yet because we do not know where Samsung would slot it. As a low-confidence placeholder, a figure between the Plus and the Ultra, roughly Rs 1,45,000 to Rs 1,65,000, would be plausible, but treat it only as a rough guide.
Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra expected price in India
With the Pro, there’s not a reliable basis yet as we don’t know where Samsung will fit it. A figure of Rs 1,45,000 to Rs 1,65,000 is a reasonable estimate, but only as a guide as it’s classified as a low-confidence placeholder and falls between the Plus and the Ultra.
The Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra is expected to be priced at Rs 74,990 in India.Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra price in India is expected to be Rs 74,990.
The S24 Ultra and S25 Ultra both launched at Rs 1,29,999 for 256GB. The S26 Ultra moved to Rs 1,39,999 and now sits at Rs 1,54,999. At launch, its 512GB version was Rs 1,59,999 and the 1TB version Rs 1,89,999; the 1TB model is now Rs 2,14,999.
Global dollar estimates are not directly applicable to India. The starting price for the S26 is USD 899.99, which is about Rs 82000 in India, as compared to retail price of Rs 87999 in India according to 91mobiles, thus Indian buyers should wait for the Samsung India retail pricing.
TechyAssist estimate for the S27 Ultra (12GB + 256GB): Rs 1,54,999 to Rs 1,74,999. The S26 Ultra 1TB is priced at more than Rs 2 lakh and we believe the 1TB S27 Ultra will keep that price tag.
| Model (256GB) | S26 India launch price | S26 India price now | S27 TechyAssist estimate |
| Standard | Rs 87,999 | Rs 1,02,999 | Rs 1,02,999 – Rs 1,14,999 |
| Plus | Rs 1,19,999 | Rs 1,34,999 | Rs 1,34,999 – Rs 1,49,999 |
| Pro | Not applicable | Not applicable | No reliable basis (placeholder Rs 1,45,000 – Rs 1,65,000) |
| Ultra | Rs 1,39,999 | Rs 1,54,999 | Rs 1,54,999 – Rs 1,74,999 |
What could affect Samsung S27 pricing in India?
- Memory costs: SamMobile notes memory chip prices have surged over the past year, and LPDDR6 and UFS 5.0 would be newer, likely costlier parts.
- Chipset choice: a Snapdragon-only Ultra costs more to build than an Exynos model.
- Competition: Apple raised prices sharply in India with the iPhone 18 series, with one report citing increases of 20 to 43 per cent over the iPhone 17 line. That gives Samsung some room, though it does not guarantee a similar move.
- Storage tiers: Samsung may change which storage size is the entry model, as it did with the S24.
- Launch offers: bank cashback, exchange bonuses and storage upgrades can lower the effective price well below the list price.
Samsung S27 and Galaxy S27 Ultra Expected Specifications
None of the specifications below is final. They come from leaks and early reports, and Samsung can change them before launch.
Design, colours and display
According to SamMobile’s explainer, the Ultra will feature a 6.9-inch QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen and achieve up to 120Hz of maximum refresh rates, plus peak brightness of up to 3,000 nits. The camera bump also gets larger, up to 4.69 mm, but Privacy Display technology, which was new on S26 Ultra, could be back. However, as of yet we haven’t seen any reliable colour leaks, so for reference, the S26 and S26 Ultra were released in India in Black, White, Sky Blue and Cobalt Violet.
Exynos 2700 vs Snapdragon: Which chipset might India get?
Samsung has adopted a blend of strategies recently in India. If you are comparing phones across brands, our iPhone 17 Pro review and iPhone 18 Pro Max Cherry Red overview offer additional context. In most other markets, outside China and North America, the S27 and S27+ will be based on the Exynos 2700, according to SamMobile’s October report. As for the third group, India would be a part of it, which means we’re inclined to believe that it will be either Exynos S27 or S27+ but it is pure speculation.
SamMobile states that Qualcomm is the only one, and Geeky Gadgets states it could be different in different regions. Qualcomm is also reported to have several other names for the chip and the final name remains unknown. The Snapdragon S27 Ultra would be coherent as S26 Ultra has a Snapdragon already in India. It is the least sure result of the Pro’s chipset.
Galaxy S27 Ultra camera upgrades
SamMobile’s explainer lists these rumours:
- A new 200MP large sensor that promises improved image and video quality with reduced noise.
- 50MP auto-focus wide camera lens
- It comes with a single 50MP telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom, OIS and autofocus.
- The loss of the 3x telephoto camera from the S26 Ultra would mean that this phone would only have three rear cameras, as opposed to the usual four.
- Front camera with 12MP sensor, possibly combined with a system for face recognition
A new concern is the loss of the 3x lens, which may be important for those who prefer a mid-range zoom, so this is something to keep an eye on.
Battery life and charging expectations
S26 Ultra is fitted with a 5,000mAh battery that includes 60W wired charging and 25W wireless charging. According to SamMobile’s explainer, the S27 Ultra will be capable of handling 60W wired charging and 25W wireless charging with Qi2.2 chargers and could sustain a maximum of 5,500mAh. There is no credible battery information on the S27, S27+ or Pro just yet. To give an idea, the S26 has a 4,300mAh battery, which is charged at 25W via wired charging while the S26+ has a 4,900mAh battery and supports 45W wired power.
RAM, storage and performance
Geeky Gadgets is hoping for the Ultra to come with LPDDR6 RAM and UFS 5.0 storage, while SamMobile’s October report indicates that Samsung is still considering these options for the Pro and Ultra in part due to the costs of the memory. SamMobile’s explainer is looking for the Ultra to have at least 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. LPDDR6 and UFS 5.0 are likely to come with increased app opening speed and quicker transfers, but would also likely bring additional pressure on price.
Android, One UI and Galaxy AI
One UI 8.5 was the first version to arrive for the S26 series. SamMobile’s explainer says the S27 Ultra will ship with Android 17 and One UI 9.0, and will get up to seven years of system updates, and newer Galaxy AI features and capabilities with Gemini. This is a potential, not a definite plan since software versions may change at release.
Samsung Galaxy S27 vs Galaxy S26: What Could Change?
Because the Ultra has the most leaks, we compare the S26 Ultra with the rumoured S27 Ultra. Everything in the S27 column is a rumour or an unknown.
| Feature | Galaxy S26 Ultra (released) | Galaxy S27 Ultra (rumoured or unknown) |
| Announcement | Feb 25, 2026 | Rumoured early Jan 2027; unconfirmed |
| India price (256GB) | Rs 1,39,999 at launch; Rs 1,54,999 now | Unknown; TechyAssist estimate Rs 1,54,999 – Rs 1,74,999 |
| Display | 6.9-inch QHD+, up to 120Hz, built-in Privacy Display | Rumoured 6.9-inch QHD+, up to 120Hz, up to 3,000 nits; Privacy Display possible |
| Chipset | Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy | Rumoured next-generation Snapdragon; final name unknown |
| Main camera | 200MP | Rumoured newer 200MP sensor |
| Ultrawide | 50MP | Rumoured 50MP with autofocus |
| Telephoto | 3x and 5x | Rumoured single 5x telephoto (3x dropped) |
| Battery and charging | 5,000mAh, 60W wired, 25W wireless | Rumoured 5,500mAh; charging reportedly unchanged |
| RAM and storage | 12GB + 256GB, 12GB + 512GB, 16GB + 1TB (India) | At least 12GB + 256GB rumoured; LPDDR6 and UFS 5.0 undecided |
| Software at launch | One UI 8.5 | Rumoured Android 17 with One UI 9.0 |
| Design | Four rear cameras | Rumoured three rear cameras, about 1.28 mm bezels, thicker camera bump |
For the base models, the S26 has a 6.3-inch display, a 4,300mAh battery and 25W charging. S27 leaks for the standard model thus far are quite minimal, primarily the Exynos 2700 chipset and a continued vertical camera design.
Design and display comparison
The redesign of the S27 Ultra, if it is to be revealed, seems to be coming from behind, as the camera layout will be different and the bump will be thicker, while the front bezels will be thinner. The screen size and resolution appear to stay the same as before, though brightness is the only feature rumoured to be improved on the screen.
The usual generational improvements should be seen thanks to a newly released snapdragon processor and likely even faster memory. The rumours on the camera front include some improvements (new main sensor, AF ultrawide, bigger 5x telephoto) and a possible compromise (no 3x lens).
Performance and camera expectations
A newer Snapdragon chip and possibly faster memory should bring the usual generational gain. For broader processor comparisons, see our guides to the best CPU for gaming and the best CPU for multitasking. On the camera side, the rumours are a mix of upgrades (newer main sensor, autofocus ultrawide, larger 5x telephoto) and a possible trade-off (no 3x lens).
Battery and software comparison
The Ultra jump from 5,000mAh to a rumored 5,500mAh would be the first increase in battery size in a few years, but Samsung’s tuning is important as well. Software-wise, the S27 will receive the next One UI update, while the S26 will receive newer software via upgrades.
Expected pricing differences for Indian buyers
The S26 Ultra launched at Rs 1,39,999 and now costs Rs 1,54,999. If Samsung doesn’t come up with a surprise, S27 Ultra is not likely to be available at a lower price than the S26 Ultra. Our price range is Rs. 1,54,999 – Rs. 1,74,999 which is only an estimate.

If you are shopping for a computer rather than a phone, see our guides to the best gaming laptops, best Chromebooks, best laptops for students and laptops under ₹40,000.
Who should wait for the Galaxy S27?
- Your current phone works fine and you can hold on until early 2027.
- You want an Ultra and care about the rumoured 5,500mAh battery, a newer main camera or the new design.
- You like buying at launch, when Indian pre-order offers such as storage upgrades and exchange bonuses have been strongest.
- You want to see final India pricing before committing a large amount. If you are also considering a non-Samsung flagship, compare it with the MacBook Neo review only if you are evaluating a wider device ecosystem.
Who should consider a discounted Galaxy S26?
- Your phone is failing and you need a replacement now.
- You rely on the S26 Ultra’s 3x telephoto camera, which the S27 Ultra may drop.
- You find a good effective price after bank offers and exchange value. Note that Samsung raised the S26’s list price on September 23, 2026, so do not assume steep discounts are guaranteed when the S27 arrives.
What Indian buyers should check before upgrading
- Your phone is failing and you need a replacement now. If your budget is limited, browse our guide to phones under ₹10,000.
- The chipset variant sold in India: Exynos or Snapdragon, since this varies by model.
- The storage tier you actually need: the jump from 256GB to 512GB was about Rs 20,000 on the S26 series.
- Effective price: compare the final price after bank cashback, EMI terms and exchange offers, not just the list price.
- Warranty and update policy: check the length of software support and extended warranty options.

Samsung Galaxy S27 India Availability and Pre-Booking
For other everyday tech, TechyAssist also covers compact devices such as the Unihertz Jelly Star, smart-home products such as the Google Home speaker and digital photo displays such as Frameo.
Based on how recent Galaxy S phones were sold in India, expect pre-booking on Samsung India’s website and stores, on Amazon India and Flipkart, and at authorised offline retailers such as Croma and Reliance Digital. SamMobile reported in February 2025 that Samsung has about 17,000 outlets in India, and the S26 also appeared on quick-commerce apps such as Blinkit and Swiggy Instamart in Bengaluru, Delhi NCR, Hyderabad and Mumbai shortly before open sale. Samsung’s online store has also carried exclusive colours, such as Silver Shadow and Pink Gold on the S26. Samsung India ran pre-reservation programmes ahead of launch for earlier models such as the S24, so watch for a similar pattern. For scale, Samsung India reported more than 2.5 lakh S24 pre-bookings in three days and more than 4.3 lakh S25 pre-orders.
A practical warning: whenever a big phone launch is near, third-party pages and messages claiming early “S27 booking” can appear. Confirm any booking on Samsung India’s official website or an authorised retailer.
