Apple Pencil Pro

Apple Pencil Pro is one of the most premium pencils in this price bracket, at Rs 11,990, on Apple’s official website. This gadget offers premium features, like haptic feedback along with the haptic motor at the top of the pencil. It also supports hover, which gives this pencil a real feel for the user.

In this review, you will get to know the battery life, build quality, all-new features, pros and cons, and an in-depth review, which will help you decide whether it is worth buying.  If you are also comparing Apple’s latest hardware ecosystem, our MacBook Neo review covers another recent Apple device in detail.

Top highlights of the Apple Pencil Pro:

  • Touch response
  • Gyroscope supports
  • Haptic feedback
  • Pressure-sensitive
  • Tilt support
  • Find My supports
  • Magnetic wireless charging
  • Hover support

Our Hands-On Take

I bought this gadget 6 months ago. Absolutely, this is the best feature-loaded stylus on the market; it works seamlessly with the latest iPads, with all the new features like tilt support, gyroscope, haptic feedback, pressure sensitivity, hover support, and the important Find My, which helps you find your Apple Pencil.

In the last 6 months, I have used it almost daily, and I have used almost 4 extra rubber tips, which do not come with the pencil. You need to purchase those rubber tips; they are only available in a pack of 4 for about 1900 rupees. In my opinion, this pencil is for artists, those who want perfection in their art, and for those students who like to make notes on their iPad. Yes, you need to compromise on the battery life, and everything else is just perfect.

Apple’s current product ecosystem also includes newer iPhone models, such as those covered in our iPhone 18 overview

Apple Pencil Pro Build Quality

This gadget comes with a plastic body and a rubber tip. The in-hand feel of this gadget is not even close to a normal pencil; it feels like pushing a plastic body against a glass surface while using it and taking notes.

Now, it comes with so many practical features like a gyroscope and tilt support, and the new one, Find My, is now available in this stylus. It helps you find your Apple Pencil; it works the same as it does for other Apple devices: you can find the location in Find My. The Apple Pencil doesn’t come with a speaker, so you cannot ring it while finding it.

Apple Pencil Pro Compatibility

Compared to the previous generation Apple Pencil, the Pro one is only compatible with iPad Air, iPad Pro, and iPad mini models released in 2024 or 2025. This device is only compatible with the recent iPad Pro 11- and 13-inch 2024 (M4) and 2025 (M5), iPad Air 11- and 13-inch 2024 (M2) and 2025 (M3); the previous Apple Pencil is compatible with:

Apple Pencil Pro Battery life and Charging time

The Apple Pencil Pro comes with the wireless magnetic charging feature, which helps it connect and charge at the same time. The Pencil Pro lasts for 12 hours, as Apple claims, but in practical use, its battery lasts for at least 7 to 8 hours on a 100% charge. Apple also claims that only 15 seconds of charging can provide 30 minutes of backup, and it takes about 40 minutes to charge to 100%.

The battery backup is much lower than the company claims, which will affect the user experience.

  • Pencil Pro lasts for 12 hours.
  • It takes about 40 minutes for a 100% charge.
  • Only 15 seconds of charging can provide 30 minutes of backup.
  • In practical use, its battery lasts for at least 7 to 8 hours.
  • With a 5% charge, it gives 20 to 25 minutes of backup.

Apple’s upcoming and current iPhone lineup also receives considerable attention around battery life and features, including the iPhone 18 Pro Max Cherry Red model.

Is Apple Pencil Pro Worth Buying?

Yes, you can buy it if you want an Apple Pencil with all the latest features. If you always misplace your stylus, this is the best choice for you because it supports Find My, and it is also a good choice for artists and those who love to make art and take notes on an iPad.

But if you are looking for the longest battery life and compatibility with older iPads, you can go for the non-Pro model; those are compatible with older iPads and does not come with those new features. The same premium design approach can also be seen across Apple’s latest Pro devices, including the iPhone 17 Pro review, which looks at Apple’s approach to its higher-end hardware. For readers comparing Apple’s products beyond the iPad ecosystem, it can also be useful to consider release information such as the iPhone 18 release date when looking at the company’s newer hardware lineup.

Conclusion

After looking at all the new features in this device, you can make your buying choice very easily. If you want to use the Pro Pencil, you must have the latest iPad. The Pro model is only compatible with the latest iPad models, and you need to compromise on battery life, but it can be resolved with the help of its magnetic wireless charger, which helps provide backup for up to 30 minutes in just 15 seconds of charging.
